FASTER and FASTER than a COOPER S? | Drive test Mini Countryman S E ALL4 | Shift Up

Welcome to yet another new video from Shift Up in which this time we drive the MINI Countryman SE ALL4, or, in other words, the hybrid version of the MINI Countryman. Today we are on the road with a very unique and tough Countryman SE that immediately stands out because of all the accessories. For example, this example has a John Cooper Works package with a tougher front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts in combination with the quite unique 19" Rally spoke wheels, spotlights and the English flag displayed on the mirror caps and roof.

This car is equipped with a 136 hp 3 cylinder gasoline engine combined with an 88 hp electric motor, so together it has a power output of 224 hp. That gasoline engine is under the hood and drives the front wheels, the electric motor is in the back and drives the rear wheels. It goes to 100 in just 6.8 seconds with these engines, almost as fast as a John Cooper Works and 0.4 seconds faster than a Countryman S.

By the way, you can just charge the car at home on 220v and it takes about 3 hours to fully charge the battery. In the interior, you hardly notice that it's a hybrid, except that the back seat is a little thinner because of the large battery pack underneath and you have to sacrifice a little on your luggage space in the back as well.

In the MINI Countryman SE, you have multiple driving modes and multiple mids for the powertrain. When you start the car, it defaults to auto e drive which allows the car to decide when to drive electrically and when to use the fuel engine. In auto mode, it tries to use energy as efficiently as possible.

In the city, it will then try to drive electric as much as possible but when you're driving on the highway it picks up the fuel engine again. Then you have the max e drive modes that allow you to drive fully electric up to 125 km per hour. In practice, you can drive up to 30 km fully electric with this. You also have the save modes, which allow the car to drive on the fuel engine only and save the battery of the electric motor so you can use it later.

The driving modes actually work the same as a normal mini, so you have the mid modes where it drives very comfortably, the sport modes and the green modes where it does everything it can to reduce your fuel consumption.

Then a word about the options of this particular Countryman. It is equipped with head up display, explanation..... It also has a rearview camera, parking assistant, wireless phone charger, Mini professional navigation that is also touchscreen controllable, the nice pure Harman Kardon Audio system, Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, seat heater and even windshield heater.
